Arc Raiders 1.7.0 Patch Notes – Cold Snap
Cold Snap is live
Think “Escape from Tarkov meets Frozen.” Every map can now roll a blizzard: white sky, iced-over lakes, and you can’t see 20 m in front of you. Dress warm, move slow, and pack flares.
Guns that got love
Bettina AR – the snow-day work-horse
22 bullets (was 20) – that’s one extra tap before you duck.
Reload in 4.5 s (was 5) – saves half a second when frostbite is ticking.
Durability burn cut by 60 % – you now get 26 full mags before it breaks instead of 12, so you can skip the back-up gun and still clear two ARC camps plus a player squad
Dev take-away: they want the Bettina comfy for both PvE and “oops, a sniper” PvP moments without it feeling OP.
Rattler SMG – the budget burster
12 bullets (was 10) – two more shots lowers the punishment if you whiff a burst.
Same slow, deliberate fire-rate, but the extra rounds shave ≈ 0.12 s off theoretical TTK against un-armoured targets.
Dev note: keep the hit-and-run play-style; just don’t lose to the Stitcher/Kettle every time you meet one.
Shredder ARC – the angry snow-blower
Less knock-back – you can’t perma-stun it with a Ferro bash any more.
Faster move/turn speed and quicker “rage” trigger – if you ping it from 30 m, expect it in your face in ~4 s.
More breakable parts – shoot the saw-blades, treads, or head-plates to cripple it instead of raw-HP dumping.
Load-out lesson: bring sustained DPS (buffed Bettina, Hullcracker, etc.) or high-alpha repositioning tools (Anvil, Spector); stun-lock memes are dead.
Frostbite Bolt-Action – new on the block
Slow fire-rate, huge stopping power; built for one-taps through white-out fog.
Only drops in Cold Snap raids (rare crate loot) – think of it as the winter-version Spector with worse handling but cheaper craft cost.
Pairs well with Heat Beacons (new consumable that slows frostbite tick) if you plan to hard-scope on the frozen lake.
